The Last Vestige

This last vestige of fall seemed to be standing in defiance of an early winter snow storm. The silence of the forest during a heavy snowfall provides momentary pauses of tranquility while casting its pure white blanket of beauty over everything. The contrast of this lone pocket of vibrant yellow and gold against the surrounding snow-laden trees gave me the composition I was looking for. This was shot in the White Mountains of Arizona.
